Kent Cricket and the Club’s principal partner, Shepherd Neame, have teamed up to launch ‘The Spitfire Sessions’, a series of interactive online forums.
In these unprecedented times, Kent Cricket will continue to celebrate its rich 150 year history with the community, through these virtual forums.
The Spitfire Sessions will showcase a number of past and current players and coaches connected to the Club.
Covering a range of subjects, the first ‘Spitfire Session’ will take place on Monday 20th April at 17:30 and the topic will be ‘T20 Cricket in Focus’.
This session will round off a week of celebrations marking the 21st birthday of the Kent Spitfires, the Club’s name used in one-day competition. Supporters will have the opportunity to quiz the panel on all things related to T20.
The panel will consist of Kent’s Director of Cricket Paul Downton, Kent Spitfires’ highest ever T20 run-scorer, Joe Denly, and England World T20 winner and Twenty20 Cup winning captain Mike Yardy, the Club’s new Batting Coach.
Supporters are asked to submit questions to the club in advance via [email protected]. From the advanced questions received, a star question will be selected by the panel and awarded with a prize from Shepherd Neame*.
Shepherd Neame’s Head of Marketing, Brands and Communication Joanna Richardson said: “During these challenging times, it is more important than ever to help people feel connected and engaged, and this fantastic initiative does just that.
“As proud partners of Kent Cricket, we are delighted to support The Spitfire Sessions.”
Kent Cricket’s Marketing and Communications Manager, Becca Smith, said: “Following on from a successful online members forum, it was clear that there was a demand for cricket focussed forums.
“It’s great to work with our principa; partner Shepherd Neame to bring this to life.
“At a time of uncertainty and isolation, it’s important for us to connect with the community, beyond cricket and we look forward to reliving some of the great moments in Kent Cricket’s history together.”
+Please note, this link will not give you access to the session until it begins at 17.30 on Monday 20th April – you will be placed in a waiting room beforehand.
