Kent’s two clubs in the Carabao Cup learnt their fate when the draw for the First Round was made on Thursday morning.
Albeit a regular event for Gillingham fans at this time of year, there was some real novelty for Bromley supporters as they saw their side drawn from the pot for the first time.
Andy Woodman’s side have been paired at home to AFC Wimbledon – ironically the side that they will face just days later in their first League Two clash at home.
The Ravens will start their league campaign at Harrogate Town and then will face The Wombles twice inside the space of four days at home as they will look to make a decent start to the new season.
Meanwhile, Mark Bonner’s Gillingham side will have the long midweek trip to South Wales to face Swansea City.
In what will be a busy few weeks of travelling for Gills fans, it will be a stern test against the League One outfit, a side that has spent most of the past few decades in the Championship.
The ties will be played in the week commencing August 12th with the confirmed dates due to be announced in due course.
