Kent Under-14 boys’ golf team continued the county’s recent run of success when they won their Inter-Counties League final against Surrey at Rochester & Cobham GC on Sunday.
The Kent youngsters won a tightly-fought contest 6.5-5.5 in difficult conditions at the Medway course, with strong winds and showers, to follow up the success of the county men’s team who had become English champions the previous weekend. Sunday’s victory also provided “sweet revenge” for Kent after they had lost to Surrey in last year’s final.
