Kent County Cricket Club have begun the search for a new head coach following Paul Farbrace’s departure at the end of the season.
With a closing date for applications to be sent in set for Monday 7th November, Kent are hoping to have some high profile candidates put themselves forward for the position.
Speaking in his blog on www.kentcricket.co.uk Kent’s Chief Executive Jamie Clifford revealed there had already been interest in the position: “There has already been global interest in the role, and I am hopeful that we will have a strong list of candidates.”
The position of Head Coach is slightly different from the position that Farbrace held as Director of Cricket with the new man expected to focus more on cricketing matters.
Kent have also announced a change in the management structure with the club’s cricket committee being scrapped to make way for a cricket operational management group made up of Chariman of Cricket (Graham Johnson), Chief Executive (Jamie Clifford), Head Coach (vacant), Academy Director (Simon Willis) and Captain (Robert Key).
As a group they will work together to discuss potential new recruits to come into the club before submitting their requests onto the committee for approval.
Meanwhile, Kent have also announced a deal that will see the players use the facilities at Polo Farm where Canterbury Hockey Club are based.
