Kent football legend Danny Kedwell announced on Friday he is leaving Ebbsfleet United after 3 and a half years at the club.

Kedwell, who has played for a number of different Kent clubs in his career including Chatham Town, Tonbridge Angels, Maidstone United and Welling United, posted on Instagram that’s it’s “time to say good bye to Ebbsfleet”, and went on to speak about his memories and achievements at the club.

“I’ve had a great three (and a) half years getting into three play offs, and getting promoted in one as captain of the club which I’ll never forget” Kedwell posted.

“I would like to thank my ex team mates; they have all been a credit to work with day in day out” he added.

“(I’d) like to thank all the fans for your great support, you (have) been brilliant.”

The 2012/13 League 2 champion scored 13 times in the National League for The Fleet last season after finding the net 18 times the previous year, so will be hopeful of finding another National League club.

He leaves the Fleet with 65 goals to his name with the club, making him the club’s 12th highest goalscorer of all time and their top scorer in the 21st century.

Kedwell will carry on coaching in the Ebbsfleet academy, and is expected to announce his next club as a player soon.
