Ebbsfleet United’s promotion-winning skipper Danny Kedwell is back on board for a fourth season at Stonebridge Road as he agreed a new contract with the club.
Having passed the 100-game mark for the club last season and scored 13 goals to take his Fleet career total to 32, the former AFC Wimbledon and Gillingham striker is keen to repeat the experience he had with the Dons when he helped fire them from the Conference South into the Football League.
Daryl McMahon believes Kedwell, who turns 34 two days before the season kicks off, still has plenty to offer his side and the skipper’s phenomenal work rate coupled with goals and assists, is something the manager hopes to harness in the National League.
The Fleet No.9’s never-say-die attitude was typified when he returned to the play-off campaign at short notice despite a multiple fracture in his arm sustained only weeks earlier.
Kedwell will continue to combine his playing duties with coaching the Fleet’s youth academy section.
