After a four-month wait, Kiern Jewiss will kickstart his 2020 campaign in earnest this weekend as the BRDC British F3 season gets underway at Oulton Park.
Reuniting with Douglas Motorsport for a second consecutive season, the 2019 race winner is looking to build on an eye-catching debut campaign in the UK’s premier single-seater series and mount a championship challenge this year.
Establishing himself as a front-runner from the off in the ultra-competitive series last year, the Kent-based youngster recorded nine podium finishes across the campaign, including a breakthrough race win at Brands Hatch, and was the highest points-scorer across the second half of the campaign.
Utilising the enforced layoff to good effect, the FM Conway-sponsored driver and Douglas Motorsport have worked through a productive pre-season testing campaign and hopes are high heading to Oulton Park this weekend.
Speaking ahead of the weekend, Jewiss said: “It feels great to be finally getting going again. Of course, there have been plenty of changes with the new car but I took a lot from my experiences in the Championship last year and am hoping to see the benefit of that this time around.”
“We saw how intense the competition was last season and it is going to be no different this time around. Pre-season has been really productive and we’re hoping that we can take that into this weekend and get off to a good start which is going to be so important with the new calendar.”
