Kiern Jewiss heads to Snetterton this weekend for the second round of his debut BRDC British Formula 3 campaign, hoping to build upon his points-scoring start to the season.
In the season opener with Douglas Motorsport, the 16-year-old driver secured three top-10 finishes, and just missed out on the podium, in his new territory to mark a successful start in the UK’s premier single-seater championship.
The 16-year-old made the jump to the more powerful F3 machinery after being crowned the 2018 British F4 champion and now heads to Norfolk to take on the three-mile Snetterton 300 circuit this weekend.
In round one at Oulton Park, the FM Conway-sponsored driver finished his first race of the season in ninth place to collect his first championship points. Sunday saw Kiern build on his impressive start, with a brilliant pair of fourth-place positions to complete his strong debut in the championship.
Speaking ahead of the weekend, he said: “I can’t wait to get back out on track and build on the strong performance we had in the season opener. The team and I showed our potential with those two fourth places, and it’s going to be good to see if we can develop that and hopefully get onto the podium this weekend.”
“Snetterton is a great track and I was fast there in a Formula 4 car last year. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve this weekend and I’ll definitely be trying my hardest to reach the podium.”
