After a strong outing at Spa two weeks ago – where Jewiss elevated himself to fifth in the Drivers’ Championship – Kiern Jewiss is now preparing to head to Brands Hatch for the next round of the 2019 BRDC British Formula 3 season.
So far in 2019, 17-year-old Kiern Jewiss has showcased his raw speed and overtaking abilities on several occasions during his debut season in the UK’s premier single-seater series.
Kiern has delivered a number of strong performances throughout the 2019 season, in particular, the previous round at the infamous Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps where the FM Conway-sponsored driver claimed a podium in the final race of the weekend from 10th on the grid. This, coupled with another two top-10 finishes – promoted Kiern to fifth in the Drivers’ Championship, only nine points behind fourth-placed Manuel Maldonado.
This weekend a new challenge awaits for the Morgan-Bros-sponsored driver as he heads to his local circuit to race on the undulating Brands Hatch GP layout. En route to becoming British Formula 4 champion last season, Kiern made three trips to the rostrum at Brands Hatch across the two race weekends held there, making it a firm favourite with the Maidstone-based driver.
Speaking ahead of the weekend, Kiern said: “This season has been a rollercoaster of performances, results and emotions! We’ve come a long way from the start of the season and have definitely been heading in the right direction.
“Now, we need to continue to carry that momentum forward this weekend and try to continue moving up in the standings. There are only three weekends of the season left and I am determined to end it on a high and pick up my first win in the series!”
