Kiern Jewiss will head to Silverstone this weekend to take on the third round of the BRDC British Formula 3 season at the ‘home of British motorsport’.
The BRDC SuperStar claimed his first podium in the series last time out at Snetterton, however misfortune plagued his other two chances of repeated successes in a weekend full of highs and lows.
With four top-10 finishes and an additional podium under his belt for the season thus far, the 16-year-old Douglas Motorsport racing driver is ready to take on the country’s most prestigious circuits in support of the British GT Silverstone 500.
The FM Conway-backed driver has enjoyed glory at Silverstone in the past when he took on the National formation of the circuit. Last year when en route to becoming the 2019 British Formula 4 champion, Kiern stood on the podium in all three races, claiming a third position along with two-second places.
Now, as he heads to Northamptonshire to take on the 3.66-mile GP Circuit, Kiern is looking forward to putting all of his racing experience into practice.
Speaking ahead of the weekend, Jewiss said: “Since leaving Snetterton, I’ve been looking forward to getting back in the car and bouncing back,”
“Growing up, I’ve always watched the British Grand Prix on TV and now to be driving there in a single-seater is very exciting.
“It was brilliant to have my first podium in Formula 3 at Snetterton, although we had some bad luck thrown in there too. This weekend is going to be about bouncing back, and showing that I am capable of being a frequent driver on the podium. The pace is there, now everything just needs to come together.”
