After a run of poor results, it has been announced that the Chatham Women’s interim manager Jesus Cordon has left the Club.

Cordon took the reigns as interim manager following the surprise departure of previous manager Dan Logue in the lead up to the start of the season.

But the side have struggled and go into this weekend with only London Bees below them in the twelve team National League South table and were beaten by lower ranked London Seaward in the knockout Plate last weekend which was the final straw it would seem for the Club’s hierarchy.

With nineth placed Plymouth Argyle coming to Medway this weekend, the Chats face an important three games in eight days with a home game against the rock bottom Bees followed by a trip to tenth place Cardiff.

In what proved to be his final game in charge, Cordon seemed to be expecting the decision as he spoke to KSN after Sunday’s defeat.

He admitted, “I think now is a moment to think if we are going to be with this team going forward and I think it is the moment for the Club to decide if they have the right person to be here.”

“We had two weeks after our last game where we had some good sessions – the training was good, the atmosphere was good, the intensity was good but that is clearly not coming out on Sunday’s.”

“Probably the Club will have to make this group better – we’ve some really key games coming and could be a positive run for us, but it can be as well very negative is we do not get something from them.”

“It is not a decision I have made yet and will have to talk to the Club about it – I am happy at the Club; I like the Club but if the Club look elsewhere, I will have to look at the options for me as well.”

“I cannot really have a rest as I am doing my (UEFA) A licence and need to be coaching. It has been two really hard months for me – we cannot go back but we have had time to do things right, but they have not!”

The statement confirming Cordon’s departure on the official Club website concluded by stating that Men’s first team boss and Club Chairman Kevin Hake and a Coaching team will take charge of Sunday’s game – kick-off at the Bauvill will be 2.30pm.
