Jamun set for Donington test

The Formula Ford Championship heads to Donington Park this weekend and Rochester based Jamun Racing will once again be on the grid.Dan Cammish

Jamun will have their four cars out there hoping to beat Championship leader Dan Cammish who won all three races in the opening weekend at Brands Hatch.

The two experienced drivers of Scott Malvern and Luke Williams didn’t have the best of opening weekends at Brands Hatch and will both be looking to get up closer to the front on a consistent basis this weekend.

Nico Maranzana was the surprise package of the opening weekend, not only does he lead the rookie class after round one in his first season, but he is also second in the overall Championship behind Cammish. He will be hoping that he can continue that good form and continue to be the surprise package again.Dan Cammish leads the way at Brands

The cars were on track in a test session last week as they looked to develop the car further for the season, and the Janum boys were right up there with their lap times again. This bodes well for the coming races, and hopefully they can challenge Cammish’s supremacy.

Juan Miguel-Rosso has yet to make his debut for the Jamun Racing team and it is hoped that he has recovered enough from his pre-season testing injury to be able to race this weekend.

They will be joined on the grid for the first time by a driver with a family that has a rich racing pedigree. Sam Brabham the 18-year-old grandson of three time World F1 Champion Sir Jack Brabham will be lining up for JTR.

24-year-old Fred Martin-Dye will also make his season debut as he gets behind the wheel of the SWB-Motorsport Sinter.

Testing will take place for the Donington race with two sessions on Thursday, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Qualifying will be at 9:30am on Saturday morning with race one of the weekend at 2:40pm. Race two and three will be on Sunday as part of the ITV4 coverage of the BTCC with race two at 9:25am and race three at 3:07pm.
