England Hockey star Ashley Jackson has left Holcombe Hockey Club to return to former side East Grinstead.
The 29 year old from Chatham joined local side Holcombe last summer in the build up to the Olympics in Rio, but just twelve months on has decided to return to the club where his brother Wesley plays.
Having returned from a disappointing campaign at Rio 2016, Ashley expressed his wishes to return to his former club and he has been granted his wish with Holcombe Hockey Club chairman, David South saying:
“Ashley stepped away from his boyhood club last season, and found it difficult to be away from family and friends.”
“We have amicably agreed with Ashley and East Grinstead Hockey Club for him to rejoin and hopefully enjoy his hockey once again”.
Jackson, who is yet to play hockey this season, has been playing ice hockey for local side Invicta Dynamos in recent weeks.
