Norwich City have released long time Addicks target Simeon Jackson with the former Gillingham striker linked with a move to The Valley.
The 26-year-old Canadian international has an impressive goal scoring record and should be in the prime of his career.
Jackson formed a lethal strike partnership with Duane Darby that propelled Rushden & Diamonds into the Football League earlier in his career.
League defences found him a tough proposition and he fired 40 goals in 65 Football League appearances for Diamonds before Gillingham came calling.
Jackson’s 88 league appearances for the Gills saw him plunder another 38 goals before another transfer took him to Carrow Road.
He has made 35 league appearances for Norwich, notching 17 more goals. A proven goal scorer with a one in two scoring ratio, Jackson will not be short of offers.
He will command a decent salary but with high earners Ricardo Fuller and Danny Haynes released, Charlton may consider Jackson a tempting proposition.
