Another big weekend awaits in the Isthmian League with the Premier Division title on the line as the top two meet and the battle for the South East crown taking yet more twists.
Chatham Town will travel with a huge travelling support through the Dartford Tunnel to Hornchurch knowing that anything but a win for Kevin Hake’s side will crown their hosts Champions and promote the Essex side to National League South.
The Chats will travel in the knowledge that in the reverse fixture back in December, goals from Chris Dickson and Ashley Nzala gave them a 2-0 win at the Bauvill.
They travel having lost just once in their last eleven games, but in the knowledge that Monday’s win over relegated Kingstonian did seal their Play Off place.
At the other end, it is beginning to look really bleak for Margate. Still six points adrift of safety and Cheshunt, Mark Stimson’s side really are knocking on the door of the last chance saloon as they travel to Kingstonian this weekend looking for just their third away league win of the season against a side beaten thirteen times at home in the League.
Elsewhere, Cray Wanderers will look to continue their climb up the table as they play Hashtag United on Friday night at Hayes Lane, as their landlords Bromley are in Isuzu FA Trophy Semi Final action on Saturday and Folkestone Invicta who still need a point to be mathematically safe welcome Play Off chasing Horsham to Cheriton Road.
The battle to get into the Premier Division took a twist in Cray Valley PM’s direction over Easter as with Ramsgate being held at home by Sittingbourne on Monday, Valley moved three points clear with a win over Sevenoaks Town, with the meeting of the top two now just a week away.
This week, Valley host Burgess Hill whilst Ramsgate travel up the A2 to face Phoenix Sports who gave their battle against the drop a huge boost with maximum points over Easter against Sheppey United and Beckenham Town, respectively.
Sports are now nine points ahead of the relegation zone with five games left leaving Erith & Belvedere and Beckenham staring at Step Five football next season.
Rock bottom Beckenham who are now ten points from safety host Hythe Town this weekend in Hythe’s first game since it was announced that Steve Watt would be stepping down at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Erith who themselves are seven points the wrong side of the trap door travel to form side fourth placed Chichester City who have won their last eight without conceding a goal!
A place above Chichester, Sittingbourne will guarantee their first ever Play Off place with a win at fifth placed Three Bridges.
Elsewhere, Sheppey United host Ashford United at Holm Park, and Sevenoaks Town travel to Merstham with all three Kent sides already looking to the summer and next season.
