Charlton fought out a goal less draw with Ipswich at Portman Road on Tuesday evening.

The Addicks were in the ascendency for most of the game, but lacked a little quality with their final ball.

Worryingly‎, they lost Johan Berg Gudmundsson early on after a nasty clash of heads with Jonas Knudsen. Gudmundsson received lengthy treatment on the pitch before coming off. The Icelander looked very shaken and was replaced by Marco Motta.

Though he‎ completed the 90 minutes, Alou Diarra could barely move at the end, and must be a major doubt for Saturday’s game at Loftus Road.

Jose Riga gave starts to Chris Solly, ‎Ademola Lookman and Yaya Sanogo in a bid to freshen his side up.

Marco Motta, Yun Suk-Young and Igot Vetokele dropped to the bench.

The Addicks controlled the first period with Gudmundsson, Callum Harriott and Sanogo all having efforts on goal.

Sanogo caused confusion in the Ipswich defence and Bartosz Bialkowski came out and completely missed the ball after twelve minutes, but Tommy Smith was on hand to tidy up.

‎Nick Pope made a flying save to thwart Ben Pringle midway through the half, but was rarely troubled all evening.

Ipswich were brighter at the start of the second half but Charlton gradually gained the upper hand again.

Lookman was a constant threat down the left and the Tractor Boys struggled to deal his corners.

The Addicks huffed and puffed but could not quite fashion the winner their dominance deserved.
