The Invicta Dynamos capped off the perfect weekend with another comfortable victory over Wightlink Raiders on Sunday night.
Kevin Parrish’s side showed that they will be more than a force to be reckoned with this season as they followed up Saturday night’s emphatic 7-1 victory on the NIHL Southern Cup on The Isle of Wight with another convincing win.
This time it was back in Medway as they brushed aside the league leaders 8-3 in the Southeast Trophy.
It couldn’t have gone any better for the Dynamos as they were oozed class from the off after a slightly delayed face off due to the number of fans looking to get into the Silver Blades Ice Bowl.
The Dynamos took until the tenth minute to open the scoring with Shaun Wild the first on the scoresheet, but once they got going, there was no stopping them.
Danny Hammond was to double their lead just minutes later blasting past the Wightlink netminder in what was a superb solo effort goal.
Once again the opening ten minutes of the second period tended to be fairly well even, but the Dynamos stepped up a gear in the next ten with a brace from Andy Smith making it 4-0 before Callum Fowler stretched the advantage even further.
It got even better for the Dynamos early on in the third period with Hammond grabbing his second of the night and despite Wightlink scoring either side of Smith’s hat-trick, the Dynamos still weren’t done.
With Wightlink concentrating their marking on import Juraj Huska after his four goal show on the island the night before, spaces opened up for the Dynamos and they made it 8-2 in the 49th minute as fellow import Jakub Klima fired home.
A mere consolation for the Raiders in the 53rd minute saw the score end 8-3 and for the Dynamos it represented one of the best weekends for the club in a long time.
With just one defeat to their name all season and four wins now on the bounce, the Dynamos are at home to Solent & Gosport in the league on Saturday night before facing the tough task of facing Chelmsford Chieftains away in the cup on Sunday evening.
