Kevin Parrish’s side put Saturday evening’s league defeat to the Wightlink Raiders behind them in style as they brushed aside their opponents at the Silver Blades Ice Bowl in Gillingham.

In what turned out to be a relatively one sided game, the Dynamos picked up the two points necessary to climb above the Chelmsford Chieftains and into pole position in the cup competition.

The first period was as easy as the Dynamos could have made it as they raced into a four goal lead in the opening twenty minutes.Dan Fudger5

Ryan Giles was to score the opening goal of the game after just three minutes and it could have been even better if Anthony Leone’s strike didn’t come back off the post.

Andy Smith was to grab the first of three on the night in the tenth minute with Elliott Knell firing in a spectacular third on the stroke of ten minutes played.

With the Dynamos completely on top, Callum Fowler was to add the team’s fourth just four minutes later and despite there being a stoppage whilst Streatham netminder Stefan Nubert received treatment after being bundled in the net by one of his own players, the home side went in at the break four goals to the good.

It took just over a minute of the second period for the Dynamos to make it 5-0 with Fowler grabbing his second of the night and despite Streatham scoring a minute later, the Mos added their sixth on 33 minutes through great combination play that saw Smith fire home after good work by Fowler.Callum Fowler11

The final twenty minutes saw each side add another goal to their tally with the Redskins pulling it back to 6-2, but Smith capped a fine individual performance to grab his hat-trick and with it the Man of the Match award on 49 minutes.

The Dynamos will now prepare for what could be a tough weekend ahead as they head to Chelmsford for a South East Trophy clash on Saturday evening before returning to Gillingham on Sunday night for their latest league clash against the Wightlink Raiders.
