The Invicta Dynamos got their league campaign off to the perfect start with an 11-0 thrashing of the Bracknell Hornets on Sunday night.

Dynamos v Bracknell2

Kevin Parrish’s side went into the game on a high having won 2-0 at Chelmsford Chieftains in the cup on Saturday night and only without the services of forward Steve Osman who sustained a hand injury in the clash over in Essex.

With twenty players in which to call from, it was little wonder the Dynamos looked on top from the off against their opponents.

The scoring started as early as the fourth minute when Conor Redmond pounced to tuck the puck home after a fierce shot from Harrison Lillis.

Four minutes later and Redmond turned provider for Bailey Wootton, one of three brothers playing in the game, to score from close range.

Only sixteen more seconds had gone on the clock when the Dynamos made it 3-0 and this time it was a great solo effort from new import Adam Rehak as he evaded challenges before slamming home from distance.

The game was all but over as early as the 16th minute when new signing Mason Webster diverted an Arran Strawson shot home and any doubt was put to bed in the 19th minute as Redmond bagged his second of the night after great work from the hard working Joshua Condren.

If fans thought the rout was going to continue in the second period, they were sadly mistaken as the Dynamos took a well earned breather and took their foot off the pedal for twenty minutes.

At the other end, netminder Damian King stopped anything that came his way from a Hornets attack that looked largely toothless.

The final twenty minutes of the game saw six more goals added to the home side without reply.

The first of those came in the 45th minute as Rehak, the Czech import, served up the puck on a plate for Nicky Lewis to bundle home.

Less than a minute later and Rehak grabbed his second of the night as he followed up on a Strawson shot that evaded the grip of the Bracknell netminder.

The eighth goal saw Rehak and Lewis link up once again with the latter bagging his second of the evening in similar fashion to his first.

At 8-0 and cruising, Parrish withdrew Damian King on 51 minutes to give James Richardson his debut for the side between the pipes, but the final nine minutes saw the netminder spend his time largely as a spectator of the action at the other end.

The ninth goal of the evening came in the 55th minute and hard working captain Callum Fowler finally got himself on the scoresheet after good work from Ondrej Zosiak.

With time running out, the Dynamos made it double figures in the final minute. The tenth goal was to come courtesy of Strawson as he thundered home after being teed up by Ashley Jackson.

The icing on the cake came with just eight seconds left on the clock as Haydn Wootton got his first goal for the club having combined well with Strawson and Elliott Dewey.

In the end the home fans left feeling on top of the world and rightly so. They sit top of the fledgling league and having won both of their opening games.

Next weekend the Dynamos face just the one test in the league as local rivals come to Silver Blades in Giillingham for the league clash on Sunday night with face off at 5:15pm.

In the meantime, Kent Sports News spoke exclusively to Kevin Parrish and Nicky Lewis after the Bracknell game.
