Legendary goalkeeper Pat Jennings is coming to Kent to help Chatham Town celebrate at their Player of the Year awards.
With “Brasil 2014” now only just over a month away, on Friday 16th May, Chatham Town will welcome to the Maidstone Road Sports Ground a man who played in two Final tournaments and who’s 119 caps for Northern Ireland is still a national record after an international career that spanned two decades.
PAT JENNINGS played 119 games for Northern Ireland which at the time was a world record. During his career Pat played for Newry Town, Watford and both North London giants – Spurs and Arsenal – winning the FA Cup with both clubs making over 300 appearances for both clubs. Indeed, in total, Pat made over 1,000 top level appearances and scored one senior goal – for Spurs in the 1967 Charity Shield.
Pat retired from club football in 1985, but didn’t play his final international game until the 1986 Mexico World Cup, when on his 41st birthday Northern Ireland were beaten 3-0 by Brazil in Guadalajara – not a bad send off to anyone’s career!
Tickets for AN EVENING WITH PAT JENNINGS – which will also include the Chatham Town end of season presentations – are available at a cost of £20.00 and can be obtained from STEVE ARCHER on 07908 748394 or by email at[email protected]
KSN will be holding a competition over the weekend for two tickets for the event – please watch our twitter and Facebook account
