Danny Green signed a two-year deal with Milton Keynes Dons on Friday.
The Harlow born 25-year-old was amongst the group of players released earlier in the week, though Green went public about his departure following the Player Of The Year dinner at The Valley on 4 May.
Green has been a peripheral figure since the Addicks returned to the Championship and spent a spell on loan with the Dons earlier this season.
In his three years at The Valley, Green has made 45 starts in all competitions plus a further 29 appearances from the bench, scoring 6 goals.
There was interest from several clubs and Green is a real threat at League One level.
Charlton have been linked with Hull’s Slovenian midfielder, Robert Koren. The Tigers have released Koren, which surprised many.
He is now 33-years-old and his wage demands may not sit well with the Valley hierarchy.
The Addicks are also rumoured to be interested in two of Arsenal’s youngsters. 20-year-old midfielder, Chuks Aneke, is out of contract next month and the Gunners will not stand in his way.
Aneke has enjoyed loan spells at Stevenage, Preston and Crewe and is thought to be interesting Fulham and Millwall, as well as Charlton.
Striker, Benik Afobe is a year older than Aneke and has plenty of Championship experience. The Ashford born frontman has had loan stints at Huddersfield, Reading, Bolton, Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday.
The Arsenal duo are a better fit for Roland Duchatelet’s template but there are unlikely to be any arrivals at The Valley until the management team for next season are installed.
