Remeao Hutton has become Stephen Clemence’s first signing as Gillingham Head Coach.
The 25-year-old predominantly a right back or right wing back arrives at Priestfield from division rivals Swindon Town for an undisclosed fee and goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s home game with Forest Green Rovers.
Speaking to the Club’s website, Hutton said: “Everyone seems really friendly here so I can’t wait to get going. The new owners are looking to grow the club and I want to be a part of that. I know a few of the lads already so that was a factor in coming here. I want to create as many chances as possible.”
Head Coach Stephen Clemence was also quoted as saying, “I am delighted that we have managed to secure Remeao’s signature. We have worked very hard to get this over the line and I am so happy to have him here.
“He is an athletic player who likes to get forward and his crossing from wide areas is superb. He will be a real asset to the team, and we are very much looking forward to working with him.”
Hutton of course is not the first Swindon player to join the Galinson revolution at Gillingham following Welsh midfielder Jonny Williams who made the switch in the summer.
One player leaving Priestfield today is forward Lewis Walker whose time at the Club has been plagued by injuries, he has joined National League side Woking with immediate effect signing an 18 month deal.
