Huska sticking with the Dynamos
Huska sticking with the Dynamos

Veteran Slovakian goal machine Juraj Huska fills the club’s second permitted ‘import’ slot for 21/22 having agreed terms to return to the Invicta Dynamos where he has already amassed 310 points in 135 appearances.

Forward Juraj Huska has possibly the most prolific CV in NIHL with goals to his name in America, Croatia, France and England. He first arrived in the UK in 2006 to ice for the Telford Tigers and it then became his permanent home following his return to these shores in 2010. In the decade plus that has followed, Huska has plied his trade in the southeast with appearances for Raiders IHC, Chelmsford Chieftains and the Invicta Dynamos.

Huska started with the Raiders where in three seasons he tallied 210 goals and 168 assists for 378 points in just 141 games. The Dynamos were next to secure his services in 2013 and he showed no signs of slowing down over the two campaigns that followed – the Slovak on target 127 times, setting up 118 more and so bagging 245 points in 107 outings.

In 2015 the forward switched to Essex where he spent two seasons in the colours of the Chelmsford Chieftains and he continued to terrorise the division with his goal scoring prowess. Over both terms Huska claimed 186 points – lighting the lamp 106 times and nabbing assists in 80 more during 106 appearances. By 2017 he was back with the Raiders where he remained a prominent figure despite the team being thrust upward into British ice hockey’s second tier. In 82 fixtures for the gold and blue he scored 57 times, played a part in 60 more and so tallied 117 points.

In 2019/20 Huska returned to the Invicta Dynamos and still he was prolific in front of net – finishing as the team’s top scorer in a campaign eventually cut short by Covid-19. In 34 games the forward beat the netminder 40 times and setup a further 34 goals for a points tally of 74. Now, following a brief spell back with the Raiders in the Spring Cup during the Coronavirus shutdown, he returns to Kent yet again hoping to help the team challenge for honours as hockey finally restarts in full.

After signing on for fourth campaign in Kent, Juraj Huska said, “I’m very happy to be back with the Dynamos for another year. We have a great group of players and it’s a good changing room to be a part of. This season I think our team is looking stronger than before so hopefully I can do my bit and help the team to secure some silverware. I’m really looking forward to playing in front of the Dynamos fans again and everyone being back together. Hopefully together we can make it a great season.”

Speaking on the return of Huska, Player-Coach Anthony Leone said, “Juraj is one of the most reliable players in the division and by now everyone knows exactly what we’re getting with him on the roster. Huska is a goal machine and a leader. He’s a great presence on the ice and a constant threat to our opponents. He’s a quality player that a lot of the younger guys can learn from. Juraj loves the game and he’s at home with the Dynamos. I know he’s happy to be back and I’ve no doubt the supporters will be glad to have him in a Mos jersey once again.”

Juraj Huska will continue to wear the number 88 when the new season begins in September.
