One of Non-League football’s hottest properties is coming to the County Town.
Late on Friday afternoon, National League strugglers Maidstone United showed a real indication of intent to all those sides at the wrong end of the division with the signing of Jake Robinson from manger Harry Wheeler’s former side Billericay Town.
After netting 57 times for the Essex side last season in the BOSTIK League, Robinson has already netted nearly twenty times this season in National League South.
Robinson’s arrival is obviously a huge fillip for all at the Gallagher and has left the manager in a buoyant mood as the Stones face their longest trip of the season to Barrow.
Wheeler is quoted on the club’s official website as saying, “Jake is somebody I have wanted since I’ve been here, and we have worked relentlessly to get him. There was a lot of interest in him, so to get this transfer over the line is a very positive move for the club. He is a natural goal scorer with over 100 goals in two and a half years. He has sixteen already this season, he is a pure finisher and he will add a lot to this group.”
