Kent’s Luke Hopkins has announced that he will remain in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship for a second season.
The Sittingbourne rider made his BSB debut in 2021, having made the move from club Superstock classes, where he was a winner.
He had an excellent result at Oulton Park netting a 14th place finish and with it two championship points as he found his feet in the ultra competitive series.
He will once again be onboard the Black Onyx Security Honda team as he looks to score more points and be more competitive in 2022.
Speaking about remaining in the BSB, Hopkins said: “When the opportunity to race in BSB came up it was too good to miss. It’s every rider’s dream to compete at the highest level, and BSB is one of the most prestigious superbike championships in the world.
“Competing at this level really pushes you on and I improved my personal best times at every track we visited this year. Me and my dad have learned a huge amount about the bike and electronics this season and we hope to use that knowledge and experience to be even more competitive in 2022.”
