Holmesdale vs Faversham Town – Preview

After last week’s FA Cup exit, Holmesdale return to SCEFL Premier Division action when they take on Faversham Town at Oakley Road on Saturday afternoon.

Having drawn 2-2 away at Hollands & Blair on the opening day of the season, Dale lost 1-0 at home to Crawley Down Gatwick in the FA Cup last Saturday. A  second half penalty save foiling Reece Perera’s side’s chance of a replay in a very entertaining game.

Faversham go into the game having won their opening league game 4-0 at home to Glebe and followed it up with a 1-0 win away at Bexhill Utd courtesy of a first half goal from Nathan Wood in the FA Cup last weekend. Tommy Warrilow’s team are one of the favourites for promotion this season, having reached the play offs in the last campaign.

Last season when the teams met at Oakey Road in March the game finished 0-0, Town having won their home game 6-1 in February. Saturday’s match will be a good test for The Dalers as both teams look to build on good starts to their SCEFL Premier Division campaigns.

Entrance for the game in £8 for adults, £5 for concessions and under 16s are free. Kick off at the RTL Stadium in Oakley Road, Bromley Common is 3pm.
