Holmesdale are in FA Vase action at Oakley Road on Saturday afternoon when they take on AFC Uckfield Town in the First Round Proper.
The Dalers go into the game on a great run of form winning their last six matches in all competitions including a 2-0 win over AFC Varndenians in the previous Vase qualifying round.
Last Saturday Lee Root’s side won 2-1 away at FC Elmstead with goals from Shameek Farrell and Sam Adenola, a result that took them up to third in the SCEFL Division One table on 15 points from 6 matches played.
Uckfield play one level higher than their hosts in the Southern Combination League Premier Division, The Oakmen are currently fifth in the table with 20 points from 11 games played, although they have lost their last three matches including a 3-0 defeat at Crawley Down Gatwick last weekend.
Their top scorer Perry Daniel has seven for the campaign so far, while Dale’s top marksman Shameek Farrell has six thus far in an exciting three pronged attack with Nathan Palmer & Ola Rabiu.
Sadly for Holmesdale they will be without Farrell who received an injury time second yellow card against FC Elmstead and misses the game through suspension.
With a chance to play at Wembley Stadium on the distant horizon, both sides will need to extra motivation for this one, which will provide an interesting match up between two sides from different leagues who have both started their seasons well.
Entry for the game is £7, £4 for concessions with the usual Covid 19 compliances in place.
