On Wednesday evening, Holmesdale entertain Tunbridge Wells in a Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division fixture.
There is just one place between the two teams in the league table with the Bromley based hosts in tenth and Tunbridge Wells one point better off in ninth. However the visitors have played two games fewer.
Holmesdale’s last league game was a two-one home defeat to Erith Town on 4th December. The visitors when one up through a Michael Power penalty and went two up after the interval with a goal scored by Alfie Eldrigde. Nathan Palmer reduced the arrears but Holmesdale couldn’t find an equaliser.
Tunbridge Wells were one of four clubs flying the SCEFL flag in the F.A. Vase over the weekend, and they did so in style at home to Wallingford Town. They went one-nil up in just the second minute through Kyron Lightfoot.
Ben Taylor levelled soon after but Robbie Bissett restored the hosts’ lead midway through the first half and Lightfoot added a third in first half injury time. Brad Walton threatened to make it a nervy last fifteen minutes but Matt Gethin scored the goal to ensure their progression seven minutes later.
Their last league fixture was a goal-less draw at home to Hollands and Blair so both teams will be eager to claim a win to push on in the league.
