Holmesdale are in SCEFL League Cup Quarter Final action on Wednesday night when they take on Division One Leaders Sutton Athletic at Oakley Road.
In their first season back since promotion Dale currently sit eleventh in the Premier Division with 33 points from 22 league matches played, on Saturday they drew 1-1 away at Crowborough Athletic, Max Ash scoring the opening goal for Lee Roots’ side, their second consecutive draw.
So far in the League Cup The Dalers have defeated FC Elmstead 2-1 & Tunbridge Wells 3-0 to progress to the last eight.
Sutton Athletic are top of Division One with an impressive 57 points from 27 league games played. On Saturday, Athletic won 5-2 at home to Sporting Club Thamesmead with doubles from Arlie Desanges & Dan Gunner and one goal from Conor Evans, which ended a run of two defeats.
Dan Kelly’s side have beaten SC Thamesmead on penalties & Tower Hamlets 6-2 to reach this stage of the competition and they will be looking to claim another Premier Division scalp on Wednesday.
This cup tie looks set to be a closely fought encounter between two well matched teams as they compete for a place in the SCEFL League Cup Semi Finals.
