Following Saturday’s penalty shootout heartbreak in the FA Vase, Holmesdale are back in SCEFL Premier Division action on Wednesday night when they entertain Stansfeld at Oakley Road.
The Dalers drew 1-1 at Horley Town in the Vase last weekend, conceding a last minute goal and lost on penalties. Holmesdale’s goal coming from new signing Fred Obasa. Lee Roots’ side currently sit ninth in the table with ten points from eight games, having drawn half of their league matches so far.
Stansfeld are second in the table with sixteen points from eight games, on Saturday they lost 2-0 at home to Tunbridge Wells their first league defeat in five, Billy Hamlin & Jamie Phipps’ side having made a superb start to their first season at Step 5 following promotion in May as Division One champions.
The teams didn’t meet last season, but this looks set to be a close game between two sides who have made decent starts to their league campaigns.
Entrance for the game is £8 for adults and £5 for concessions, with a printed programme for £2, kick off is at 7:45pm.
