It’s a meeting between teams at either end of the SCEFL Premier Division table at Oakley Road on Wednesday night when Holmesdale entertain Phoenix Sports.
Dale come into the game on a run of eight consecutive defeats, which has seen them slip to seventeenth place with 30 points from 30 league games played, just eight points off the relegation places, with eight matches left to play.
Last weekend Lee Roots’ side lost 2-0 away at Whitstable Town, the manager’s 200th game in charge of The Dalers.
Phoenix currently sit in second place with 65 points from 31 games, just six points behind leaders Erith & Belvedere. Sports drew 1-1 away at third place Deal Town on Saturday, Alfie Evans putting them in front before Deal equalised in the second half.
Steve O’Boyle’s side are unbeaten in thirteen matches and will be looking to keep the pressure up on the leaders, in turn keeping the gap between them and the two teams challenging for the second promotion spot below them in Deal & Erith Town who are three points behind.
Dale will want to turn things around quickly and make sure there is no prospect of a return to Division One in their second campaign back at this level.
The sides haven’t met so far this season with the return fixture scheduled for next month, but the form book would make the away side favourites going into this one.
Entrance for the game at Oakley Road in Bromley Common is £8 for adults and £5 for concessions.
