On Wednesday evening, Holmesdale entertain Lordswood in the penultimate match of the 2022-23 season in the Southern Counties East Football League.
Whilst most clubs finished on Saturday, Holmesdale still have two games left, entertaining the Lords in a midweek fixture before visiting Bearstead on Saturday to bring down the curtain on the campaign.
On Saturday, both teams won on the road. Lee Roots’ Dalers won two-nil at K Sports. Mo Mbomme opened the inside the first ten minutes, and Luke Adams ensured that they would claim all three points when scoring in the last ten minutes.
Meanwhile, Lordswood were involved in a ten goal match at Punjab United, winning seven-three.
Luke Medley scored a hat-trick including two penalties in three second half minutes, with Joel Odeniran, Fred Baker and Ola Adegbulube also on the score-sheet.
When the teams met at the Bill Bishop Memorial Stadium earlier in November, the Dalers triumphed three-nil with three goals in three minutes, starting in the seventeenth when Adams opened the scoring. Fred Obasa added a second a minute later and after another two minutes Clyde Semazzi notched a third
Although Lordswood are only one place above Holmesdale in the table, they have a seven point advantage and are four points adrift of Hollands and Blair so the final standings will not be affected whatever the outcome.
