Holmesdale 0-3 Fisher

Despite dominating the first hour of this game and creating over a dozen good chances Holmesdale came away from this game empty handed as Fisher taught them a lesson in taking chances.Holmesdale

Dale started the game on top looking to attack with the lively Jordan Green causing all sorts of problems with his pace and quick feet. Green set up Mert Varli who hit the bar and Daniel Stewart fired the rebound over.

Ricardo Campbell sent in a great free kick which Marc Cumberbatch headed against the bar and Green then hit two further chances wide of the post. Holmesdale player manager John-Paul Collier went close soon after before on their first real attack Fisher were awrded a penalty when Ciro Doandio brough down Kieron Campbell in the box.

Danny Maguire smashed the spot kick home off the underside of the bar for 0-1 on 28minutes. Dale went close again when Romario Hart headed over, but Fisher also went close late on in the half when Campbell hit a 25 yard screamer that cannoned back of the bar.

The second half saw Holmesdale start well again Green and Stewart both went close with Fisher keeper Adam Highstead making some good saves.

Then after weathering storm Fisher came back into things and were soon 2-0up on 60minutes when Demetrious’ powerful run ended with a perfect cross for Troy Abbey to tap home from six yards.

From this point the away side looked like a side who were two up and were stronger and quicker to the ball. Campbell had a free kick deflect over off the wall and Cheverton fired over, while Dale’s finishing became even more wayward as they visibly lost confidence in their patient passing game.

Highstead pulled off one great save from a Holmesdale corner before the visitors put the game beyond doubt on 79 minutes when the excellent Campbell set up Mark Cheverton who crashed a superb effort home from the edge of the box for 0-3.

Cheverton went close two more times as the Champion Hill based side ended the game on top celebrating a win that seemed unlikely for at least the first 28 minutes of the match.
