Billy Marsh scored the only goal as Lordswood finished their season with a one-nil win at Holmesdale.
Artem Kuchkov drew a comfort low save out of Holmesdale goalkeeper James Boughtflower in the early stages before Josh Reid shot over from a difficult angle.
Marsh delivered a near post corner that Kuchkov headed wide then Boughtflower did well to cut out a low Reid cross.
Ryan Styles had the Dalers first effort but his shot was deflected, taking the sting out of it, and Tom Crump claimed easily.
Tom Brand met a Marsh cross on the volley but he couldn’t beat Boughtflower before both teams had opportunities when spotting the opposing goalkeeper off the line.
Luke Adams’ first time shot flew wide of Crump’s goal. However, Ethan Stewart came closer for the Lords when his chip came back out off the top of the post.
Julian Kuhr and Marsh both shot over before the visitors went ahead. Kuchkov’s delicate pass over the top had two defenders expecting each other to clear and Marsh nipped in to lift it over Boughtflower’s head and inside the post.
Kuchkov clipped the bar, then Kam Pope-Campbell fired over at the other end before the half time whistle blew.
Lee Roots made a triple change to his Holmesdale side at the break but Lordswood had the first goal attempt of the second half when Reid cut in but shot beyond the far post.
Kuchkov had a shot saved before Pope-Campbell caused problems at the other end with a low cross that Crump couldn’t hold.
No Daler striker could take advantage as it fell kindly for a defender to hack it away.
Elias London missed a great chance to double the Lords’ lead when meeting a deep free kick before blasting over from close range then Stewart did find the back of the net but his joy was cut short by an offside flag.
As hard as Holmesdale tried, they couldn’t find an equaliser. The closest that they came was when Cian McCarthy headed wide when meeting an angled free kick, then Adams was off target with a first time shot.
In the fifth minute of stoppage time, London lunged in and committed an ugly foul for which he was shown a red card.
Although Lordwood’s season is now finished, the Dalers have one more game remaining when they visit Bearsted on Saturday for the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division finale.
