Holcombe travel to Bowdon this evening looking to make it back-to-back wins and five victories in seven Premier Division matches under Kwan Browne following Sunday‘s win at East Grinstead.
Holcs have impressed so far, taking 13 points from six games having played all of last season’s League Finals weekend qualifiers already and now travel to bottom side Bowdon looking to continue that run of form.
An enthralling 4-4 draw against Surbiton last Saturday was followed by a 4-2 win in Sussex on Sunday as part of the double-header weekend, with Teague Marcano scoring four goals across the weekend to keep him near the top of the scoring charts with Phase One now over halfway done.
Browne’s side sit third currently, behind Surbiton – who have a game-in-hand – only on goal difference and ahead of Wimbledon – who also have a game-in-hand due to their Euro Hockey League commitments along with Surbiton – by a point.
This is the first ever Premier Division meeting between the two sides, with this being Bowdon’s first season back in the top-flight since Holcombe’s promotion in the 2014/15 campaign.
Elsewhere in the Premier Division, league leaders Old Georgians travel to Cardiff & Met, who are currently sixth.
OGs are looking to keep up their 100% record and add to their goalscoring tally, having already netted 43 goals so far this campaign.
Second-placed Surbiton travel to East Grinstead – the Sussex side sit ninth with six points from six matches and are just three points behind Cardiff.
Wimbledon host Oxted, who were beaten 9-2 by Old Georgians in their last match and sit eighth on seven points, two off the Top Six.
Hampstead & Westminster travel to Richmond hoping for a third win in four games – Richmond picked up their first win and points in the Premier Division last weekend as they beat Bowdon 3-1.
Southgate, fresh from their first win of the season against Bowdon, travel to Beeston, who are currently seventh on eight points.
