The score ends level despite an emphatic late victory bid from Holcombe.
A second-quarter effort from Cullen Turner gave Ashmoor the lead, with Holcombe equalising 10 minutes later through Tom Russell.
The first quarter began sluggishly for the Holcs, with neither team breaking the deadlock. An early bursting run from Sam Taylor to break through his opponents’ defence allowed him to get the shot away, but it was saved by the keeper.
With a breakthrough into Holcombe’s area, Ashmoor were able to create the overload, where the ball was passed across the face of goal and to the awaiting Turner, who clinically took his chance.
On the stroke of half-time, Holcombe won a penalty corner through Femi Owolade-Coombes, who took the strike which grazed over the crossbar.
Holcombe came out after half-time looking much brighter.
The equalising goal came through Russell, who was found by Seb Ansley on the edge of the area. A low-driven strike found the bottom corner.
It was Owolade-Coombes who, once again, almost put his side ahead at the end of the next quarter, as his shot at the death was just wide.
After a flurry of chances for Holcombe in the closing minutes, including a double save at close range from Aaron Martin, the score ended level.
