Holcombe Hockey Club have confirmed the signing of Bethan Hodges from Southgate as their Women’s first-team prepare to return to outdoor action.
Hodges, sister of Holcs defender Robyn, has also played for Holcombe in the Super 6s Division One in each of the last two seasons and will now be available for outdoor selection.
She has made four appearances for Southgate in Division One South so far this campaign, with the London side sitting in ninth-place, a point away from safety.
Hodges could face her old club in her first weekend of competitive outdoor action for Holcombe, with Nick Bandurak’s side set to host table-toppers Surbiton 2s on Saturday, 3rd February before Southgate visit Holcombe Park the following day (both 2pm).
Holcs currently sit third, three points behind Barnes in second, with Surbiton 2s unable to be promoted if they finish top.
Holcombe will have a game-in-hand on Barnes by the time they face Surbiton, with Barnes set to face William Fulker’s side next Wednesday.
On joining the club, Hodges said: “I’m super excited to get started at Holcombe.
“This is a great opportunity to join an ambitious team with fantastic coaching staff to help me develop as a player and be part of their successes!”
Coach Bandurak added: “I’m really looking forward to having Bethan on board with the Women’s 1s for the second half of the season.
“Bethan joined us for our Super 6s campaign and has settled with the group straight away.
“I’m thrilled she’s chosen to join at this stage and look forward to working with her.”
