Jake Hill will make his international motorsport debut in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup which will support the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.Jake Hill 2015 4

Hill who will race with In2 Racing who raced for in 2014 in the Porsche Carrera Cup, he is no stranger to racing a Porsche as he currently races for AmD Tuning in the British GT Championship in a Porsche 997 Spec 911.

Now Hill races the same 460bhp spec 911 GT3 Porsche Supercup, a series which Porsche’s Le Mans winning drivers Earl Bamber and Nick Tandy have recently tasted success, come the 5th July.

Speaking about the opportunity to race on the International stage, Hill said: “This is incredible when I was 6 years-old my Dad’s sponsor at the time was based in Monaco and we went to the 2000 Grand Prix, and I remember the Porsche Supercup cars then, so to be racing one, and at my home Grand Prix is just amazing!”

Hill tested the car he will race at Silverstone last Friday, setting times within half a second of regular front-runners Tom Sharp and Dan Cammish, despite not having driven the car before, so heads to the race weekend in a confident mood.Round 2 of the 2015 British GT Championship. Jake Hill.

He added: “It’s the first full day’s testing I’ve had other than at a race weekend since 2012. We worked through lots of different set-up changes and I tried some different racing lines and different ways to use the kerbs, and we got down to a really good time for the condition of the tyres and the fact that the track was crazy busy.

“I know it’s going to be very, very tough racing against some of the best sportscar drivers in the world, quick and experienced guys. But I’m under no pressure at all – everyone else races in Supercup or Carerra Cup regulalrly, so to get in amongst them and do my best is the aim, and just enjoy and learn from the experience. I am hugely grateful to Nick and everyone at In2 Racing for giving me this opportunity. I just CANNOT wait to get out on track.”

Hill and his father Simon are still working hard on finalising the budget for the weekend – so are keen to offer some incredible hospitality opportunities via Porsche’s Formula One Hospitality over the weekend of the Grand Prix.

“Porsche do everything to the very highest level. We have places for all three days of the Grand Prix – access to the F1 Support paddock where not only the Porsche Supercup, but future F1 stars racing in GP2 and GP3 single-seaters are based. It’s an incredible experience, we have access to the F1 grandstands and of course can view all of the on-track action, including all the F1 sessions on Friday, Qualifying on Saturday and the British Grand Prix on Sunday.

We also have mega PR opportunities with branding on the car and Jake’s suit and helmet, live TV coverage on EUROSPORT and globally, and excellent social media opportunities. It’s a big deal this event!” smiled Simon.

“But we are on a strict deadline and need to get everything finalised early next week (w/c 22nd June) so hope we can get everything in place – anyone keen on finding out more details can get in touch”Jake Hill 2015

It is fitting to give the last words to Jake who is clearly excited to be getting behind the wheel and racing on a Grand Prix weekend.

He said: “This is the biggest opportunity of my career so far to showcase what I can do. I’ve raced in the BTCC a couple of times, now in the British GT this season, I’ve won lots of races in various series and tested GT Ferrari and Mercedes, but this is a chance to see what it’s like to actually race at a Grand Prix, and in front of the BRDC. Amazing!”
