At his ‘home’ circuit – Brands Hatch – 26 year-old BRDC ‘Superstar’ Jake Hill will take his MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square Honda Civic Type-R into battle for the final time in 2020, confident of a strong finish to the season.

Hill reflected on his 2020 campaign “We had an incredibly frustrating start! Five retirements in the first six races, only six points and 25th in the championship after Brands Hatch GP in August – and none of it my – or the team’s – fault.

“We regrouped, and were determined to dig deep, and since then we have scored points in 17 of the last 18 races, have taken 5 Podium finishes, qualified in the top-ten in every race so far, have moved into 8th overall in the points and 5th in the Independent Drivers category, and I took my first Independant Drivers Win last time out.

Hill has fond memories of racing on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit – taking 2nd place finishes in both 2018 and 2019 – and is confident his car will be strong around the 1.22 mile loop.

“I love this place. It really is ‘home’ – it’s the first circuit I drove on and have had so much success here. It’s going to be so close in qualifying, especially as we only have one practice session on Saturday to prepare, but I know the car will be strong so I’ll be going all out to maintain my strong record this season.

With Lockdown restrictions preventing fans and team guests from attending, it will be a much quieter event than normal, as has the whole season.

“I cannot thank all of my amazing partners enough for their support in this the most challenging of all years. The team and their partners have been incredible, but without my fantastic group of folks we simply wouldn’t have been racing. I hope I have made them proud – I certainly have given all I can – and I am close to having things in place for 2021, which I’m sure will be an even more exciting season.

“But for now I’m focussed on trying to finish in the top-ten overall and maybe top four in Indepedant Drivers, so just want to say a massive ‘thank you’ to all of the #24 crew; Shaun, Rob T, Craig, Ben, Rob O, Dan, Micky P, Charlie and everyone else for an amazing job in 2020. Thanks folks!
