After qualifying a season’s best 9th, and taking points in the opening race, a holed radiator caused the engine to overheat in race two, forcing retirement and also meaning Hill had to withdraw from the day’s final race.
“We have been making progress with the car at every single weekend” said Hill. “The team are doing a fantastic job, and the car was really strong at Croft. Unfortunately these things can happen, but I’m very confident we will have a strong package for Oulton Park. This is another circuit I absolutely love, I’ve had some great results in everything I’ve ever raced here, including BTCC – our Audi S3 will be in really good shape!”
Hill comes to Oulton Park 5th in the Independent Driver’s category, with Trade Price Cars Racing a strong 5th in the Independent Team’s Championship – and Hill 11th overall in the Driver’s series, having taken points in all four race weekends so far, hence is determined to continue this trend.
“I have had a couple of incidents that were not my fault in race three at Brands, and race one at Donington, and then the engine issues at Croft which were really unfortunate – but when everything runs smoothly we score points!
“I am loving being part of Trade Price Cars Racing and AmD, and can’t wait to see what the rest of 2019 brings. But for Oulton, it looks like the sun will shine so it should be a mega weekend for us and all of the incredible BTCC fans!”
“It’s great also racing with Mark (Blundell) and I’m sure this will be a track he will be strong at, and I’ll be cheering on our boss Dan Kirby in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup too.”
