Hill is back in the BTCC

Kent’s Jake Hill is back in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship for 2019 with Trade Price Cars Racing.

Hill has put pen to paper to drive for the new AmD/Trade Price Cars team and will get behind the wheel of one of the teams to Audi’s.

Hill is no stranger to the BTCC having spent the last two seasons with Kent’s Team Hard, although he only fulfilled part of the season in 2018.

The Kent lad will be looking forward to getting behind the wheel and going racing again next season. He will team-up with Andy Wilmot a fellow Kent resident as they look to take the BTCC by storm.

Speaking about being back in the BTCC in 2019, a delighted Hill said: “We have been working non-stop since the summer to get things in place to get back into the BTCC,”

“I am absolutely buzzing to once again be part of the UK’s premier championship, especially as part of this exciting new project with Trade Price Cars Racing.

“I want to thank Dan (Kirby) and Andy (Wilmot) so, so much for making this possible and for giving me the chance to remind everyone what I can do. I am more fired-up than ever and ready to work as hard as possible to get the maximum out of the car, and see what we can achieve as a team.

“We have some fantastic partners, both new and existing, and we’ve a stunning livery to be revealed soon. We aim to be out testing early in the new year, and we have some very, very good people working with the team, so we expect to be well prepared.

“I’d also like to make it clear how much I appreciate the previous opportunities Motorbase Performance, Team HARD, RAR and AmD Tuning have given me, as well as all of the teams outside of the BTCC that put their faith in me. Shaun Hollamby has done so much for me, too, and has been great for my career since first helping me out back in 2010.

“They’ve all provided the platform for me to show people what I can do. Without their support, and that of my fantastic sponsors, friends, fans and of course my incredible family, I simply wouldn’t be able to do what I love.”

Wilmot was delighted to get Hill as his first signing for the new look team.

He said: “Trade price cars racing are delighted to welcome Jake Hill to our team for its debut season as team owners in the BTCC.“We are no strangers to the BTCC paddock as Trade Price Cars have been Title sponsors in the BTCC championship for Team Hard. As Jake was a previous driver for Team Hard we had a great relationship with him already.

“We feel he will be a great asset to the team and help push the Audi’s to the front of the grid where we aim to be. Jake is a good development driver and it’s a well liked character which is a great combination for us as this is the perfect profile of driver we were looking for.

“Jake is very keen to get back up to speed after being out of a Touring Car for around 6-7 months but is in good shape mentally and physically which are good ingredients to perform well at such a high level.”
