Hill ready for Knockhill
Hill ready for Knockhill

Jake Hill will make the annual trip across the border this week into Scotland as he looks to get back to winning way in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill Racing Circuit.

Jake will make the trip to the fan favourite Knockhill Racing Circuit this week he prepares to do battle once again around the 1.27-mile circuit in Fife, just north of Edinburgh. The track is one of the shortest on the calendar, as well as one of the most challenging; and with its narrow and undulating layout, its unique character is loved by fans and racers alike.

The circuit played host to one of the most exciting weekends of the 2022 season, as Jake and Ash Sutton went toe-to-toe through all three races in what was described as the battle of the season. The weekend saw Jake score the highest amount of points of any driver in 2022 – converting a commanding Pole Position into Victory with Fastest Lap in race one, and backing that up with two second places and another fastest lap.

Knockhill was the scene of Hill’s first-ever BTCC Win in 2019, and since then he has taken MB Motorsport to the podium in 2020 and 2021, as well of course his superb set of results last year.

Jake heads into round seven after a testing weekend at Croft last time out. Croft saw him take 25 hard-earned points, and now sits 4th in the standings, 41 behind leader Ash Sutton.

Jake, in his WSR-run BMW 330e M Sport, will be looking to replicate his 2022 performance at Knockhill this weekend as he aims to score big points and close the gap in the championship fight.

Being 4th in the standings, Jake’s hybrid allows him 7 Secs (per lap) in qualifying and eight laps of hybrid use through race one – with the results of races one and two setting the hybrid allowance for the following race.

Speaking ahead of the weekend, Hill said: “Since departing Croft two weeks ago, Knockhill has been all I can think about and I can’t wait to hit the track this weekend. Croft was not the weekend we wanted and there were some valuable lessons learnt that will make us stronger as we enter the final few rounds of the season.

“Knockhill in 2022 couldn’t have been much better, so we are pushing hard to replicate that success this weekend. We know the competition is tougher than ever and achieving those results are going to be a much harder task – but myself and the team are feeling extremely pumped and we’ll be working our hardest to deliver some strong results for the team, our partners and fans!”
