“One of my favourite race meetings of the year” is how Kent’s Jake Hill described the 82nd Members Meeting at Goodwood this coming weekend.

It will be where the Kent-based driver will again campaign the Ric Wood Motorsport 1980 ‘Gitanes’ Ford Capri in the Gordon Spice Trophy, is also racing with Kerry Michael in a 1979 Ford Escort RS2000 in the Win Percy Trophy, and will joins an Elite group of star drivers in the ‘GT3 Shootout’ driving a 2012 Ferrari 458 GT3.
“I have raced at the Members Meeting now since 2021, and have driven Ric’s Capri each year, having taken Pole Position twice and taken two Wins in the car, and it’s absolutely fantastic to drive.”
“One of my personal sponsors, Scalextric, have even released a model of the car as it’s got such a cool livery! This year has a different feel as the Gordon Spice Trophy is just for cars over 2800cc, and we have two races, one for the ‘Pros’ on Saturday afternoon, and one for the owners on Sunday.”
“We will be up against some real star cars and drivers, so it should be a brilliant race”
Hill will make his debut in the smaller engined category of Touring Cars at Members Meeting, racing in Kerry Michael’s nimble Ford Escort RS2000 in an event that’s new for 2025, the Win Percy Trophy, named in honour of the triple BTCC Champion who won his titles from 1980 to 1982, with qualifying on Saturday morning, and the race at 2.15pm on Sunday.
“My BTCC team boss Mark Blundell has regularly raced with Kerry in the RS2000 and raves about the car, so I am really buzzing to have a go, and I think we will have a lot of fun racing against Minis, Golfs and Alfasuds”
The final action for Hill in a typically busy weekend is another unique event, the GT3 Shootout, where he joins 6 other Champions in cars that graced the International stage from the mid 2000’s, competing with legends including Le Mans winners Tom Kristensen and Andre Lotterer plus Touring Car heroes Andy Priaulx and Andrew Jordan, driving a gorgeous Ferrari 458 GT3.

“I made my GT3 debut in the latest Ferrari 296GT3 car in Dubai earlier this year, and in my first race with Era Motorsport in Europe in the 24H Series in the car we had a fantastic race at Mugello recently, taking a Podium overall.”
“I am really enjoying the experience of sportscar racing, and feel really honoured to have been invited to drive this car, so will give it my best as always”
As well as racing the Era Motorsport Ferrari in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Mugello so far this season, Hill was also invited to the Adelaide Motorsport Festival, where he was reunited with the monstrous Shadow MK1 ‘Mosport’ Can Am car, as well as driving a 1976 Shadow F5000 car, a Ford Fusion NASCAR and Ford Sierra RS500 in Australia’s version of the ‘Festival of Speed’.

“What an event, and what an opportunity to drive some special cars. the RS500 was on my ‘bucket list’ and the NASCAR was just brutal, plus the Shadows were amazing as usual – so much fun, and hopefully will get to go back again at some point.”
Hill will then get back to his ‘day job’ of preparing for his BTCC title defence with Laser Tools Racing MB Motorsport in his ‘Laser Beemer’ when he heads to the Season Launch and Official Test at Donington Park on 15th April.
“I have had three days testing so far in our revised BMW 330 M-Sport and it feels really, really good. We have learned a lot and my engineer Craig (Porley) and I have a few more things to work on specifically for Donington, and I feel we will go there in a very strong position to start well, which is vital in this series”
“But for now I am really excited about Members Meeting – a huge thank you to Ric Wood, Kerry Michael and JRT for inviting me to drive some marvellous cars at a brilliant event, it should be a memorable weekend”

Goodwood will broadcast the action live on You Tube over the weekend, with Hill then racing at Spa-Francorchamps with Era Motorsport over the Easter Weekend, before heading to Donington Park on 26th & 27th April for the BTCC opener.
“I feel sharper than ever, fitter and more focused so will be taking my ‘No.1’ into BTCC competition with real purpose. Let’s Go!”
