Jake Hill is excited to take to the track for the Kwikfit British Touring Car Championship this coming weekend.
For Hill it represents a new challenge as he takes to his home circuit with the brand new Trade Price Car Racing team in an Audi S3 prepared by Essex based AMD Tuning.
Speaking to Kent Sports News about the season ahead, Hill said: “I can’t wait for this weekend, new start and practically a new car to me for 2019 it should be awesome, I feel at home with everything already and of course the home race for round 1 is a bonus!”
With Jake getting behind the wheel of the brand new S3 he is loving the challenge that it brings for him.
He added: “I have loved driving the Audi so far, we are still learning every time the car hits the track but it’s been very interesting and quick at the same time.”
This season could be the most open BTCC season yet with new drivers, teams and cars taking to the grid this weekend, which Jake agrees with.
“It does indeed look very interesting with new cars, drivers and teams for 2019 it will no doubt be a blinder for us and the fans.”
This season Jake is the experienced driver in the team as he is joined by rookie Mark Blundell, even though Mark is an experienced F1, Indy and Le Mans driver.
Of his new teammate Jake said: “He is the nicest bloke ever and of course packs a huge amount of knowledge and experience for us as a team, he will no doubt be on the pace very soon but it really is an honour to be teammates with Mark.”
We asked Jake whether following the testing in the Audi if he had set any targets for the season and whether he was excited to be racing at Brands Hatch for the first round of the season.
He added: “No targets just yet but of course I would love to be on the podium again for 2019!
“Brands is the perfect place to open the BTCC for this year, we love it, the fans love it and I can’t wait to get going!”
