It has been an interesting start of the season for the Welling United with their first three games being against newly promoted teams while trying to bed in an entirely new squad.
In those games they drew one and lost one before claiming their first Vanarama National League South win of the season, at home to Cheshunt.
Despite only winning by the odd goal, they were comfortable winners under the floodlights.
On Saturday the Wings visit Hemel Hempstead Town as they look to build on the win. However, they know that they will have to work hard to get anything out of their first game on an artificial surface in this campaign.
In what is looking to be a tight league this season, the Tudors have also won one, drawn one and lost one having defeated Farnborough at home on the opening day, followed by a draw at Hampton and Richmond Borough, then a three-one defeat at Concord Rangers.
Last season’s corresponding game in October ended in a one-one draw. The Wings were behind at the break but Daniel Carr’s second leveller ensured that the honours were shared. It could be an equally tight game this weekend.
