Ahead of the 2016 UK Championships in Sheffield, Ditton based snooker player Barry Hawkins has revealed a new partnership with K Sports Cobdown.

They have a brand-new community facility set to become one of the most modern and well-constructed in the South East.

Centred on the 28 acre Cobdown sports ground in Kent, K Sports Cobdown is a new and exciting model for sport, business, education and vocational opportunity in the community.

Hawkins’ new sponsorship deal sees him help support the new venture alongside his competing worldwide.

K Sports Cobdown will proudly sponsor Hawkins, supporting his endeavours whilst raising the profile of snooker in the county and beyond. Having trained intensively in Ditton and across Kent, Hawkins revealed his pride at representing K Sports Cobdown on both a national and international stage.

“I am really honoured and excited to have secured a deal with K Sports. When I found out what Alan Dennington and his team had planned at K Sports, it was definitely something that I was eager to be involved with.”

Hawkins added, “Having lived locally for a number years I think that the area will benefit greatly with having a state of the art sports academy like K Sports on the doorstep. I am really thankful for everyone’s support there and I hope that I can do everyone proud.”

K Sports Cobdown Chief Executive, Alan Dennington, expressed his delighted at securing sponsorship of Kent’s best snooker player.

“We are really pleased to secure this deal with Barry who is very fondly regarded and followed by lots of people here at K Sports, across the local community and the county too. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to support him and help promote the work taking place here.

“We have a unique mission and value to increase participation in a range of sports, fostering and encouraging excellence. So Barry’s sponsorship marks a pivotal moment, as we begin development on our facilities to include a brand new snooker area for elite and recreational players.”

Alan added, “Snooker is one of the country’s most popular sports and with Barry spearheading our work and development, we look forward to pushing this further by encouraging more people to give it a go and practice at K Sports Cobdown.”

K Sports Cobdown will be following Barry’s progress at the upcoming UK World Championships from 22 November 2016 – 4 December 2016, by screening his matches live from their brand-new bar in Ditton, Kent.
