Hot on the heels of the announcement of a partnership between Team Hard and JamSport, is the unveiling of their first driver.
Young charger Callum Hawkins-Row will compete in the Fiesta Junior Championship for 2016 under the new Team Hard/JamSport Racing banner.
JamSport proved last year that they are the class of the field providing support for the overall Championship winner Aaron Thompson and runner up Michael Higgs. On top of that, JamSport are also providing the opportunity to win a test drive in a current Clio Cup Car for the 2016 winner.
Callum has proven his ability over recent months with some very successful outings karting as well as an extended run on the recent Ginetta scholarship and subsequent track time. Callum will follow on from recent young drivers to become part of the Team Hard young driver development programme and will benefit from our extensive support.
It is essential in this day and age to be the complete package on and off track and that is all part of the education that Team Hard every step of the way.
Speaking about the signing of Hawkins-Row, Team Principal Tony Gilham, said: “We have known Callum and his family for a few years now and have been keeping an eye on his progress in karts.
“It is very clear to us that now is the right time for us to take the first step on the racing ladder. He has the right mind-set, dedication and natural ability that are all key ingredients to building a successful racing career.”
Callum will get his first taste of the 2016 machinery with a sample day next weekend and that will be the beginning of what we believe to be a very long and successful relationship.
Giving his thoughts about signing for 2016, Callum said: “I am looking forward immensely to competing in the Fiesta Junior Championship for 2016 and am very grateful to both Tony and Jamie for this exciting opportunity with Team Hard and JamSport.
“I believe that this is the perfect package for the transition from karts to cars. It represents a great blend of support and experience which will enable me to fulfil my potential and justify the faith that has been placed in me.”
