Following her impressive debut in the DTM series last month, Esmee Hawkey is excited to get back in the car as the championship resumes at Lausitzring this weekend.

With less than two days worth of experience under her belt, Esmee arrived at the season opener in Monza and thoroughly impressed throughout the weekend. At the wheel of the #26 T3 Motorsport Lamborghini Huracán GT3, the 23-year-old out-qualified some of the series’ biggest and most experienced names.

Heading to Lausitzring this weekend, Esmee is looking forward to building on that positive momentum and enjoying another strong weekend.

For the first time in the series’ history, drivers will tackle the 4.57km German circuit’s 8.5º banking at the first corner, offering an all-new challenge. Fans will also see cars reach a top speed of 275km/h along the main straight.

Temperatures are expected to reach almost 30ºC across the weekend with the threat of some high humidity thunderstorms also a possibility later into proceedings.

“After Monza, I’ve been itching to get back in the car,” Esmee said.

“We found a really good base to build upon in Italy and our aim for the weekend is to continue to do just that. I’ll keep learning as much as I can and working hard with the team. It’s also set to be a scorcher so I’ll also be making sure I stay as cool as possible!”
