Havant & Waterlooville v Bromley – Preview

So far this festive period Bromley have picked up three points from their two games, beating Maidenhead and losing at Sutton, which has taken them to just three points of the relegation zone as they head down to Hampshire for a game against fellow strugglers Havant & Waterlooville.

The Ravens just edged Alan Devonshire’s side at Hayes Lane thanks to a goal from Jack Holland on Saturday, but Boxing Day saw them lose by the only goal at Gander Green Lane.

Lee Bradbury’s Havant sit one place and one point below Bromley having drawn 2-2 with local rivals Eastleigh last time out, scoring twice in the last ten minutes. When the two sides met at Hayes Lane in August The Ravens won 4-0 as The Hawks initially took a while to find their feet at National League level, but they have slowly improved following promotion last season.

Bromley manager Neil Smith changed things up for the Sutton game switching to five at the back and resting the in form Jake Goodman, but the performance was very disappointing, although they could have snatched a point when sub Joe Quigley missed a late chance hitting the post when one on one with Amber’s keeper Jamie Butler.

A good Bromley support will make the trip down looking for a response from their team knowing that anything but a win could see them drop into the bottom four.
