London News Online has reported that Lyle Taylor has turned down a new contract offer from Charlton.
Here is what Lee Bowyer said to Richard Cawley:
“Lyle has been offered a contract and he declined it.
“It’s his choice if he wants to sign it or not. We’ve offered him a good contract. Roland (Duchatelet) offered him what we think is a good contract.”
But on Twitter on Tuesday evening Taylor said no contract offer had been forthcoming.
The Telegraph has reported that prospective new owners, East Street Investments, have presented documents to the EFL proving that their funding for the Charlton takeover is completely independent from Manchester City’s owner.
The EFL were concerned about a possible link. Hopefully, the deal can now be completed fairly quickly.
One of ESI’s first priorities will be to get Taylor to sign a new deal.
